Container

Multiple virtual user-space instances are allowed by a single operating system kerne, such is a container. Containers are different from virtual machines in the sense that they do not need entire OS image to operate on. They are isolated and hence facilitate for the scalability and flexibility of microservices and cloud-based environments.
